Curuhuinsi Lodge is located in the heart of the Amazon rainforest on a major tributary river, the Ucayali, which feeds into the great Amazon river. As a result, the sounds of jungle wildlife surround our lodge day and night.
We provide transportation from Iquitos to Nauta via land, to the boat ramp where we depart for our rainforest lodge. Life jackets, bottled water and jungle stories are included.
About Us
Curuhuinsi Lodge has been operating for over 24 years. We offer personalized and private tours for large and small groups. You will be accommodated at our lodge during your whole stay where you enjoy hospitality, tours, refreshments,meals and make friendship with local people of the Amazon. We are located 260km south of Iquitos (map) in one of the most beautiful and protected areas of the Peruvian Amazon, right near the Pacaya Samiria National Park and the Yarapa communal reserve.

Gerson became a jungle scout, leading tours in the Amazon rainforest for many years for guests from all over the world, after completing his military service where he learned reading nature and the tracks in the jungle, you are very safe with him.To help support his village, he started Curuhuinsi Lodge in 2000, which gained international acclaim. Born and raised in the Amazon jungle, he is best known for his fun, personalized tours and extensive knowledge of the area. On top of that, he is an excellent caiman catcher!

Airport Pick-Up/Drop-off
We will meet you at the airport on arrival, as well as organize your airport drop-off. So, please kindly provide your flight information.
All Meals Provided
Meals are prepared in our kitchen and are fresh and nutritious. Furthermore, we cater to vegetarians and those with dietary requirements. Please advise us of your food preferences/ allergies.
Accommodation
Our lodge is surrounded by the rainforest and has a rustic but comfortable atmosphere. We have 7 Bungalows with private bathroom and shower, and also a hammock area, large dining room and a kitchen. Power is available from 6 pm to 9 or 10 pm.

Which airlines fly to Iquitos?
There quite a few options to get to Iquitos by plane.
The most common route is from Lima to Iquitos. You can also fly from Cusco to Iquitos, usually with a short layover in Lima.

Can I pay for my Amazon Jungle tour by credit card?
Our business is run by locals and cash is the preferred currency in the Amazon jungle. Please book your trip and pay in cash when you arrive in Iquitos.
We are in the process of setting up an online payment option.
What should I wear to the Amazon jungle?
Wear whatever is comfortable. It is recommended to have a sturdy pair of broken-in trail shoes, boots, or sneakers. Also a long sleeve shirt and long pants. Sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat it is also recommended.
